Mr Leung Ka Keung, Tony (“Mr Tony Leung”) has been appointed as the Non-Independent Executive Director of AmMetLife Insurance Berhad (“AmMetLife”) with effect from 20 September 2018.
Mr Tony Leung is Vice President (“VP”) and Regional Finance Officer in MetLife, Asia regional office in Hong Kong. He was appointed to this position in September 2017. Prior to that he was VP & Actuary providing actuarial oversights for financial reporting, reinsurance and capital management. Mr Tony Leung has been with MetLife since October 2016.
In Mr Tony Leung’s role as Regional Finance Officer, he has dual responsibilities to provide regional oversight to finance operations for Malaysia, Vietnam and Nepal, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer for MetLife, Asia ex-Japan. He is also responsible for capital management activities for Asia ex-Japan.
Mr Tony Leung has over 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry. Prior to joining MetLife, he worked in Swiss Re heading the business development team in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he worked in various actuarial and finance roles in AXA, AIA, PricewaterhouseCoopers and MLC Management Limited in Hong Kong and Australia with experience in product development, financial reporting, reinsurance and capital management.
He is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and he holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (actuarial studies) from the Macquarie University in Australia.
